When looking for a medical spa, Denver residents will be pleased to find there’s one located within the offices of Campanile Plastic Surgery. What’s the difference between a medical spa and a day spa?
Day Spas in Denver
A day spa is a place where you can go relax, maybe get a massage, sauna or seaweed wrap, and just soak in some self-indulgence. The attendants are not trained medical professionals. You might find common procedures such as microdermabrasion or chemical peels advertised at a day spa, but keep in mind that these will not be performed under medical supervision. Day spas are really more for relaxing.
Medical Spas in Denver
Our medical spa is attached to a full-service cosmetic surgery clinic, but standalone businesses exist as well. Either way, the focus is on providing medical services under professionally trained supervision to make sure they’re done with the proper care and attention.
A true medical spa will offer services such as BOTOX® or JUVEDERM® that are supervised by a physician. You may feel like you get a bit of pampering at a medical spa, but the main objective is to provide medically-sound, nonsurgical aesthetic treatments.
A Final Note
Many clients may be confused because so many medical treatments are now being offered at day spas. However, true medical treatments should only be performed under the supervision of a physician. Before having any beauty treatment, find out what is involved and the qualifications of the person administering the treatment.
