About Breast Lift
At Campanile Plastic Surgery, we know that the way your breasts look can impact your self-image. Age and gravity both contribute to sagging breasts over time, particularly in larger-breasted women. Pregnancy and nursing also can have an impact on the breast’s elasticity and firmness, which may not return following childbirth.
A breast lift, or mastopexy, from board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Francesco Campanile can help lift and reshape your natural breasts and help you feel more confident with your breast appearance.
When looking for breast lift surgery near you in Denver, you want the best breast surgeon to help you meet your goals. Dr. Campanile brings a customized approach to each breast lift procedure.
During your initial visit to our Denver, Colorado office, Dr. Campanile will take the time to talk with you about the results you can expect from a breast lift, how a breast lift can improve your nipple position and the various incisions that might be best for your plastic surgery procedure.
Our goal at Campanile Plastic Surgery is to give you all the information you need to feel comfortable making the best decisions for your long-term satisfaction.

Your Breast Lift Procedure
During a breast lift, Dr. Campanile uses a customized approach to determine the best incision technique for your needs. After making the incision, he reshapes the breast tissue for a fuller, more youthful look before tightening the breast skin and removing any extra. Dr. Campanile may also reposition the nipples to a central location and resize the areolas if needed.
Breast lift recoveries are often considered easier than other breast enhancement procedures. Most women are able to return to their normal routines within a week following surgery. With proper post-surgical care, your scars should continue to fade for a year or more after your mastopexy, leaving you with lifted, perky breasts that flatter your figure.
The Best Results
Dr. Campanile tailors breast lift procedures to each woman’s figure and her cosmetic goals. While a breast lift can be the best option for lifting the breasts, a breast lift alone will not enlarge your natural breast size. For some, this may mean combining a breast lift with augmentation.
Other women may wish to reduce their breast size. In such instances, breast reduction surgery, which always includes elements of a breast lift, may be the best solution.
Many women elect to have a breast lift as part of their mommy makeover, often combining the procedure with additional nearby body contouring surgeries. Women who have achieved significant weight loss may also benefit from combining their breast lift with additional body contouring procedures to reveal their slimmer, fitter shape.

Breast Lift FAQs
Am I a good candidate for a breast lift?
Most patients come to our office in Denver for a breast lift if their breasts have a lack of fullness, are sagging, or have nipples that point downward. It is important to have realistic expectations about the procedure. Women choosing a breast lift ideally should be done having children and should also maintain a steady body weight before and after surgery.

Should I worry about scarring after my breast lift?
When performing a breast lift procedure, Dr. Campanile places the incisions as inconspicuously as possible. Most incisions are made around the areola and down to the natural breast crease. For the most part, any scar redness tends to fade dramatically within the first year.

What are the risks of getting a breast lift?
Any surgical procedure carries some risks. Fortunately, breast lift surgery has a very low complication rate when performed by a skilled plastic surgeon. One of the most common complications of breast lift surgery is loss of nipple sensation or sensitivity. This is often temporary, with sensation returning within a few months. Sometimes, though, sensation is permanently diminished following the procedure, due to severing of the nerves when relocating the nipple and areola. Every effort will be taken prior to your surgery to make sure you are fully aware of any potential complications.

What is breast lift recovery like?
Although all patients heal differently, normal (light) activities are often resumed within the first week. Gentle exercise is usually tolerated by 2 weeks, and more vigorous activities within another month or 2. There may be some soreness, numbness or both at the surgical site. Swelling is also common following surgery, and a special support bra should be worn continuously (night and day) for the first few weeks.

What happens during breast lift surgery?
There are a few different techniques Dr. Campanile may use to perform your breast lift. Each one lifts the breast, reshapes the breast tissue and places the nipple back in a centered position. The specific technique used is determined by how much correction is necessary, and whether breast augmentation or breast reduction is going to be included along with the lift.

How long will my breast lift results last?
Until we can find ways to stop gravity and aging, there’s no way to keep breasts from falling again. The effects of both can be slowed by wearing bras for support and maintaining an active, healthy lifestyle.

Breast Lift Recovery Tips
There are a number of items you’ll want to have on hand so that your recovery goes as best as possible after plastic surgery.
- Pillows: For the first few weeks of recovery, you’ll need to sleep on your back, with your head somewhat elevated. Have extra pillows on hand to help make you comfortable.
- Stool softener: Anesthesia and prescription pain medication can cause constipation. A stool softener can help keep your bowels regular.
- Ice packs: A cold compress can help to reduce swelling near the surgical area and promote healing.
- Entertainment: During the first several days of your breast lift recovery, it’s best to get plenty of rest. Relax with your favorite magazines, movies or TV shows.
- Comfortable clothing: Plan on loose-fitting pants and tops you can unzip or unbutton with ease and comfort instead of pullovers.
After Your Breast Lift
Once you’ve made it through your initial stage of recovery, you’ll still have to wait a few more months for the breasts to fully heal, with the final results gradually becoming apparent over several months.
Don’t go bra shopping too soon, as it takes time for swelling to resolve. For now, stay comfy with soft, supportive bras. Wait for your plastic surgeon to give you the green light before you have a formal fitting.
Your scar appearance will continue to improve with the passing weeks and months. You’ll be surprised at how much scars continue to fade by even a year after your breast lift. Dr. Campanile may recommend silicone sheets or a specialized scar cream to help with the healing. It can take up to 2 years for scars to fully mature.
Your breasts will continue to settle and should have a more natural look near the 3 to 6 month mark after surgery.
Having a breast lift is an exciting occasion. The breast enhancement procedure is an investment in yourself that can offer you beautiful, transformative results, but you’ll need to be patient with the recovery process.
Once you’re ready to move forward with a breast lift, please contact us online or call our Denver office at 303-345-7476. We look forward to helping you feel and look your best.
Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, offers various techniques to address sagging breasts and achieve a more youthful chest contour. In Denver, Colorado, patients seeking breast lifting options can benefit from procedures tailored to their specific needs and goals. One common technique is the lollipop breast lift, which involves an incision around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease, suitable for mild to moderate sagging. Alternatively, for more significant sagging, the anchor breast lift technique may be recommended, involving additional incisions along the breast crease. By consulting with a skilled breast lift Denver surgeon, patients can explore their options and choose the approach that best suits their anatomy and desired outcomes. Additionally, patients can find valuable information and resources on breast surgeries like breast reduction, breast implants etc. through reputable blogs and educational materials, empowering them to make informed decisions about their breast lifting journey.
