This patient came to plastic surgeon Dr. Francesco Campanile because, she had a slight tuberous deformity of the breasts. Tuberous breast deformities result in the pointy appearance of the breast and areola. Although common, women with this deformity often feel self-conscious about their breast appearance, and seek surgical intervention.

Dr. Campanile took the time to review her case and they decided together that the best course of action was to move forward with a breast augmentation surgery. Oftentimes, it is more complicated to achieve natural looking results with this tuberous deformity since if not corrected, the tissue around the areola can continue to protrude once the implant is placed under the breast tissue. Here, Dr. Campanile loosened the tissue around the areola to correct for this and a very natural-looking breast was achieved.

This patient is shown here approximately 3 months after her breast augmentation. She is very happy with her results and feels more confident about how her breasts look.
